
Better than the expensive and over-sweetened options from the grocery store. Quick to slap together and easy to tailor to your taste. Don’t sleep on Greg and his granola.
Ingredients
- 3 cups rolled oats (Bob’s Red Mill is a good one – the thick stuff)
- 3 Tablespoons packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Optional Stuff
- Fruit! golden raisins, dried cranberries, dried blueberries etc…
- Nuts! pumpkin seeds, chopped walnut, pecan pieces, peanuts. chopped almonds, flax seed, all great….
- 1/2 cup coconut flakes
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 300°. In a large bowl, Mix all ingredients until oats are evenly coated. Spread on sheet pan.
- Bake for 15 minutes, stir, then continue baking for another 8-10 minutes depending on your desired level of toastiness.
Eat with yogurt or milk, top with fresh berries or diced apple.
